Oppurtunity to clinch - wasted

With this being the last Canucks home game of the 2006/2007 season the Canucks Player Awards were announced. Not Surprisingly Roberto Luongo walked away with the most honours. What a shocker!

Once again, the Canucks make it difficult on themselves, leaving it to the last two games to clinch the division. The Canucks need one more victory out of their last two games, or a Minnesota loss. We really don't want to depend on Minnesota to lose. They haven't been doing alot of that lately. Also, Minnesota has one game left - against St Louis. Taking a look at the Standings Minnesota is one point behind us with one game left.

So it comes down to San Jose, or Phoenix. We need at least one more win, I believe they can do it, but I dont know if I want to listen to them do it. I love this team, but they drive me crazy !!!!!!!!

Tonight, it was Milan Hejduk, who scored all three goals for his Colorado Avalanche, and kept their slim playoff hopes alive. Sami Salo scored for the Canucks. Luongo made some huge stops, but Milan Hejduk was just too much for the canucks tonight. Somehow, after a game like this, I dont feel too confident going into the playoffs. That could very well be just because the game just ended, and I"m disappointed they lost, but - they should have won, it would have been so much easier - the pressure is on them now.

I Still BELIEVE !!!! Lets hope they win in San Jose on Saturday afternoon.

It's down to one more victory for the Canucks now. One more Victory and they will have clinched the Northwest Division Title. They need one more victory, out of their last three games, against the Avs, the Sharks, or the Coyotes. Surely they can do that. We can't really depend on Minnesota to lose, seeing as how they have only the Oilers, and the Blues left to play.

Anyway, back to the game. The Canucks started out slow, and were down 2-0 before they decided to play. To hear Luongo talk post game though, it was all part of his plan to wake his team mates up. Whatever works for you Roberto. The Canucks scored 4 straight to win the game. Goals by Bryan Smolinski, Taylor Pyatt, Matt Cooke, and Markus Naslund.

Bring on the Avs - and pls Canucks play a full 60 minutes.

Great late, but too late

The Flames were up 3-0 before the Canucks made it on to the scoreboard. I wouldn't say they played badly, it just wasn't good enough. If they had managed to win tonite, it would have put them 5 points up on the Wild for first in the division. But they didn't win, so I suppose its a moot point.

On a brighter note, Naslund scored - a chippy messy goal, but it was a goal none the less, helped greatly by Kippresoff ( sp?) But we can only hope that it will Springboard Naslund into bigger and better things.

A loss, its not the end of the world as we know it. Let's hope they rebound against the Kings On Tuesday.
