less than two minutes

It was a meeting with the Av's again. I was dreading this game. I knew my team needed to win, wanted to win, but i had my doubts whether they could win. Naslund out, Park out, Cooke out, Cloutier out, Jovanovski out, Rypien out...... But somehow, we prevailed. Even allowing Colorado to score first, we scored a shorthanded goal, right back. Even somehow managing to get two more pucks past Aebischer before the third period was half over. Then I think we got complacent, or we just made two brutal errors. In a span of less than two minutes, Colorado scored to tie the game. Overtime looms. Overtime..... the game wasn't decided...it needed a Shootout to determine the winner......

An unlikely hero, but then again, maybe not so unlikely. With the Absence of our Captain, Marc Crawford chose Jarkko Ruutu to start off the shooters. He beat Aebischer. The only shooter on both teams to beat the goaltender. The Canucks win 4-3

While the two points are great....the defensive breakdown in the third period, is of some concern. Why can't they play a perfect hockey game. Am I asking too much? Are my expectations too high? Okay they probably are..... I just want them to win convincingly when they play teams in their own division. Which they haven't been doing on a regular basis yet this season.

But a win is a win !

Sunshine Autobody

Well, I took my car with its door mouldings with the paint coming off, to the autobody place today. They promptly took my car, took the door guards off, washed it and returned it to me, I go by tommorrow at some point to pick up my newly painted door guards...or rather have them put them back on my car ! :)

I've been very pleased with this autobody shop. ......

they know how to treat a customer !

On my way to work yesterday, i noticed the paint coming off the moldings on my door. Needless to say i was quite upset.

Today i took my car in to sunshine autobody, they took the moldings off, and those will be ready tomorrow.

its so frustrating, but it sounds like they are gonna fix it for free :)

Conservative Majority? or Liberal Miracle

The big vote, has arrived. Will the Liberals be ousted from power, after over 11 years? ( I think its been that long, I can't quite recall at this point, but its around that time frame)

We can only hope so !

The strong contender to win the election, seems to be Steven Harper and his Conservatives. A breath of fresh air for Canadiens?? After a steady diet of Liberal politics, I would think at this point, that even the Marijuana Party would be a breath of fresh air.

JUST GET THE LIBERALS OUT

That seems to be the consensus around this area anyway.

The only thing left in doubt seems to be whether Steven Harper, will have a majority government, or a minority government....

Soon we shall see.....

Well, Instead of listening to the hockey game tonite. ( Canucks versus the CANADIENS) i went over to some friends house and had a great night. I think I should do that more often, since the Canucks won 6-2.

Had a great time at Andrew and Natasha's. I think I drank too much coke though :) I've been up for 20 hours now. I need to sleep....but.... i can't seem to relax enough to do that for some strange reason.

OVER RATED

Being a manager is over rated.

all the managers I've ever know, they seem to have it all together, and know everything. I"m the last of a dying breed. YOU see, I don't know everything, and I barely have it all together.

somehow someway I make it through my shifts at work........... but.. sometimes It doesn't feel worth it.

I miss the ole days, when I didn't have to make decisions that would have lasting effects.

oh well... live and learn, if I had to do it all over again.........

Another Canucks win....... this time 4-2 against sid the kid, and the penguins. Tied with Calgary for first place in the division... is it wrong of me to wish some calamity befall the flames so they go into a tailspin..... i almost feel bad............

But keep on those winning ways boys.... I believe you can do it. Next up, the SABRES.......

Another semi normal day for me. I did a few constructive things around the house, once I finally got out of bed, lazed around, ate popcorn, and then in the evening i went out and spent the evening with one of my very best friends :) WE had so much fun. It was nice to get out, and spend some time together. We just don't do that often enough !

The Sun Finally Emerges.....

After 26 days straight of rain, today, was a good day. We saw the sun. SOmething we haven't seen in quite a while. You know, the sun, its really bright ! :) It changed the whole outlook of everyone at work. It was a good day !

we didn't break any consecutive days of rain record, but... you know I"m not that upset over it :)

no more RAINCOUVER, or Lower RAINLAND.

Friday the 13th

Surprisingly enough, Friday the 13th this year, went really well. I was only to realize much later, that all the bad luck would fall onto my beloved hockey team.

The Canucks were in New Jersey to play the Devils tonight. And everything was going to plan. 0-0 throughout the first two periods.... and then the third period. Alex Auld let in a 'soft' goal... and the floodgates opened. Well, maybe I"m exaggerating just slightly. The final score was 3-0, the end result, still the same. A LOSS

My emotions are so firmly entrenched into the success of this team. I take each loss to heart. I have to stop doing this.

I'm slightly depressed right now. Maybe its the fact that we have had 26 days straight of rain. And for the most part, not just sprinkling of rain. The majority of it , has been pouring rain. I"m starting to feel like Noah, In Noah's ark.

WILL THE RAIN EVER STOP ???????

I was counting on my team to win..... silly me, depending on a hockey team to pull me out of my doldrums.....

the end of the week approaches !

I will be so glad to have this week over with. Its been a long, very long week. Only two more days left of it :) this is indeed a good thing.

I can't wait for my next days off. and hopefully next week I'll be scheduled for at least two days off in a row. its so much more restful.

Although I haven't been making the most of my early nights. Meaning I have gotten to bed way too early in the morning for the past couple nights. I think it was around 430 both of the past nights. Which would explain why I am exhausted ! :)

I have to get up early tommorrow for work... not looking forward to that :)

Staff Party January 8th

Well, here I am getting ready, for my first party at the new restaurant ... well new restuarant to me too....

I felt pretty, oh so pretty...

The party was pretty okay I guess. The food was sensational ! ... the company... invigorating..... i won a prize....

We had the dinner at the river rock casino in richmond.

I left early, cuz I wasn' t up to the party at the pub afterwards.... I guess all in all, I was glad I made an appearance.

The party itself, was an eye opener, in many ways.... Guys that I thought were rude boors, were really not that bad... so I learned something today. Never judge someone on first impressions ! :)

of course, don't forget the first impression, cuz first impressions say alot about someone, but give them another chance to prove that they are not the rude, arrogant boors they appear to be on first meeting :)

Calgary Versus Canucks

What an entertaining game. It sounds like both teams have shown up to play tonight. The score is 1-1...... both teams playing hard giving it their all. If only we could have 82 games like this a year. BUt we all know that will never happen ! :)

We can dream can't we ?

What a game !!!

A brief brain cramp in the third, Calgary went ahead by a score of 3-1........ canucks came back to tie it... with a few fortitious penalty calls in the last two minutes of the game. Overtime looms !

What an amazing game, so entertaining, I wish i was there, or even watching it ! .... :)

It seems to me that the Canucks are really controlling overtime, Forcing the Flames to take a penalty,

and MORRISON SCORES.......( on the powerplay).......in overtime, the game is over !!!...............

California here I come

Well, I was impulsive for once.... see I can be impulsive :P

I bought my ticket to go visit my cousin In California, for a week in February.

I'm really looking forward to it. A week off from work, a good deal on my plane ticket. It should be a fun time. I haven't seen Janelle, in ... I dont know how long, they moved there last February..came up in, i think it was the fall sometime. So it will definitely be great to see them again ! :)

Canucks VS Blues

What team will show up tonite ? Will it be the team that plays a full 60 minutes? I can count on one hand, maybe two hands the number of times this canuck team has shown up. They've been in a bit of a slump lately, winning a game, and then losing three games....... Which team will show up tonite.

Jovanovski, and Cloutier are out. Cloutier for obvious reasons, but Jovanovski.... I'm not to sure why. This is the second game he's sat out..... I dont know if he's injuried or what is going on. I guess if its too serious, we will hear eventually.

So far, the game is all tied up.... 1-1 .......

I sure hope the Canucks win..... It is only the worst team in the NHL, they are playing tonite..... they should win !!!

Sometimes, what should happen, doesn't though. As The Blues just scored shortly after a Canucks PowerPlay ended. This team will be the death of me I think..... but I still love them

Now the games become more important, as the teams start to vie for playoff position. Calgary as of today is 5 points ahead of the Canucks. Not to long ago, we were 5 points ahead of Calgary. Come on Canucks, play like we think you can ! ! :)

Well they obviously did not have time to read my blog, with my heartfelt plea to play like I think they can, and win against the worst team in the NHL........... maybe its me... I"m under the delusion that they are better then they are.........

Regardless, they lose 4-1 to the worst team in the nhl fall farther behind in the playoff race for playoff positioning, and leave me very bitter, and depressed !!

First blog of 2006

Well, the new year is not starting off the way its supposed to !

Work, once again, the computer at work is doing wierd things. It may possibly be the operator, ( smile) but for right now, its making me feel better to blame it on the computer !

I worked a closing shift tonite. We closed the restaurant at 8. I was all gung ho to get out of there early, and something somehow caused the computers to malfunction, and it was giving me error messages, ..... I wanted to cry ! ... Why does this always happen when I want to get out of there ?

so a grand start to 2006...... maybe, just maybe it was the final hurrah of 2005...( which was not a good year for me ) One can only hope :)
